Andeel Side Table

Explores the quiet tension between movement and stillness. Its starting point was the fluid motion of marine life as it drifts through water, where direction is shaped by subtle currents rather than force. The work translates this continuous movement into a sculptural form that exists between weight and lightness.

Developed through casting, experimentation, and handcraft in Beirut, the relationship between the dense top and the open, organic base evolved through repeated trials. Rather than resolving every irregularity, the making process allowed the piece to retain a sense of movement, where shifts in surface, proportion, and finish became integral to its final expression.

The hand-finished patina moves between warm gold and sea-worn green, while the perforated base creates a visual lightness beneath the weight of the top. Together, these elements create a quiet tension between permanence and motion, giving the impression of a form suspended in the process of becoming.
