Rift Coffee Table

Explores the fractured stone formations found along the shoreline, where erosion, pressure, and time continually reshape the landscape. Rather than viewing these fractures as moments of loss, the work explores them as evidence of transformation, where breaking apart becomes the beginning of a new form.

Developed through casting, experimentation, and handcraft in Beirut, the piece evolved through repeated studies of surface, proportion, and material. Cast aluminum incorporates reclaimed stone fragments gathered from residual sources, allowing each casting to retain subtle variations that become part of the work rather than imperfections to be removed.

The hand-finished surface carries shifting depths, textures, and patinas that recall the quiet complexity of weathered stone. Solidity and void exist in constant dialogue, giving the piece a sense of both permanence and gradual change.
