Veil Side Table
Began with an interest in what is revealed gradually rather than immediately. Instead of presenting the object as a complete image, the piece explores how layers can alter perception, allowing depth to emerge through moments of partial concealment.
Developed through casting, experimentation, and handcraft in Beirut, the relationship between the translucent top and the cast brass forms beneath evolved through repeated studies of proportion, spacing, and material. Rather than treating the upper surface as a boundary, it became an active layer that softens, filters, and reframes what lies below.
The translucent top diffuses light across its surface while allowing the cast brass elements to remain partially visible, shifting with changing light and perspective. The result is an object that invites a slower reading, where clarity and obscurity exist simultaneously and neither is allowed to fully dominate.
